A8 - A Question, would really appreciate your thoughts
!/ Yes Soldo, another politics fred, so just move on
2/ Lefties, bugger off with Soldo, nothing to see here

Right, as a lifelong working class Tory, what is your prediction for the next few months? I am looking at a shambles. May is awful, Cameron a chancer found out.

Of the current pack, Hammond a disaster, Boris a liability.

Who are the rising stars with enough clout internally to front the anti semetic, pro terrorist shit storm in the Jezza/ Abbott union?

May will probably stay until after we Brexit.
Although he's said he's not interested in becoming leader now, David Davis might be persuaded to do the job for a couple of years.
Tom Tugendhat has been mentioned as a prospective leader.
Both the above have military backgrounds with leadership qualities. Shame Cameron beat Davis all those years ago.

There was a picture from their conference today that looked like an OAP home for British Nationalists.

Not going well.

New UKIP - not enough people like Kenneth Clarke there to save it from its fate.

Re: A8 - A Question, would really appreciate your thoughts
That's their ultimate problem - the only people that are actual fans are one foot in the grave. It's only the prospect of Corbyn running things that has anyone else voting for them. The hard Brexit lot think they are empowered but the minute a credible opposition comes along they'll realise they've been living on a house built of sand. The party won't survive it and the country is being badly hurt by it.

I agree that a vote for May would be the lesser of two evils, but if ever there were a chance for a striving, natural orator then this is it

I just don't see that person, hence the question, an honest question, to A8 who knows better than us all

This will be about the first election that I will be glad not to have a meaningful vote, given the costituency fortunately denying me the opportunity

I'm genuinely interested, Crassus.

What is it you find intrinsically about the Tories that represents you?

Can't wait for corbo to take charge .I disagree with most of his policies .but fuck it I've always been game for a laugh .let's face it if you ain't a tax dodging millionaire the Tories don't give two fucks about you and the offspring ..

I just wish they could get someone who is vaguely competent, doesn't appear to be acting from career self-interest and really wants what's best.

As much as I hate to say it the only credible person I can see on the tory front bench is Michael Gove.
He has a brain and, as much as I disagree with a lot of his political positions, is probably more that sharp enough to take on Corbyn. He can think on his feet too (in sharp contrast to Theresa May) and not too dogmatic.

'What is it you find intrinsically about the Tories that represents you?'

In simple short terms, lifting the common denominator rather than facilitating and accepting the lowering. Supporting and encouraging those contributing rather than taking and in general history, being proud of what the country has given the world rather than creating an atmosphere of self loathing.
